These organic soapberries are one of the most natural and most cost efficient alternatives to mainstream laundry detergents. They are naturally antibacterial and antifungal, so they kill germs and remove odours, leaving your clothes clean, soft and smelling fresh. Soapberries are the fruit of the Sapindus Mukorossi tree, which grows in several different regions around the world, but is most prevalent in the Himalayas. The shell of the fruit is then collected, dried and packed for use. The shell is exceptionally high in ‘saponin’ which is nature’s soap. This saponin content reduces the surface tension of the water so it will remove dirt and leave fabrics, soft and clean. Use Instructions:
Add 5 soapberries in the cotton wash bag provided and double tie the top. Then, pop the bag in the wash. It’s as simply as that! (Optional: If you prefer fragrance, add 4-5 drops of 100% essential oil)

When they are agitated in the water they produce a natural soap-like foam. Each set of shells will do approx. 4-5 wash loads, depending on water temperature and wash cycle, etc.

End of Life:
Each set of soapberries will last an additional 4-5 wash loads. Once the shells become soft and brittle, add them to your compost. Alternatively, make a potent multi-purpose liquid by boiling the berries in water for 15 minutes and use for anything from shampoo to surface cleaner!
